The Grand Rapids ArtPrize is a one-of-a-kind event and, in the words of its organizers, a “radically open competition” featuring over 1,700 pieces of art on display at more than 175 venues. Its artist-participants match online with locations throughout the city that are willing to host work including sculpture, film, installation, performance and 2-D media. Then, from its opening on September 22 to its closing on October 10, visitors vote on their favorite artists. With a $250,000 top prize, it is the world’s largest art prize decided solely by public vote. See the official website for more information.
Please rsvp to firstname.lastname@example.org. We plan to leave Grand Rapids by late afternoon or early evening.
Thanks and hope to see you there! (The sculpture above is a finalist from last year).
